BD Vacutainer® Plus Plastic Serum Blood Collection Tubes offer a modern solution for serum determinations in chemistry, ensuring both efficiency and safety. The Tubes contain spray-coated silica, which acts as a clot activator, enabling blood samples to be processed for various tests, including blood donor screening, immunohematology, and serum diagnostic testing for infectious diseases. The Tubes are made of plastic to improve safety and simplify disposal, in line with EPA regulations. They are available in different sizes, and two closure options are offered.

One of these closure options is the Hemogard™ Closure, which is designed with a recessed inner structure and a shield that is coated with plastic. This design helps to prevent contact with any blood that may be present on the stopper or outer rim of the tube. Additionally, the Hemogard™ closure is user-friendly, with a smooth operation that eliminates blood splatter when opening the tube.
